Bananenschnitte

Chocolate Banana Cream Cake was one of our obsessions before cutting out dairy so we simply had to come up with an alternative. To match our name – foodcreating – we just went for it and created a recipe for the best birthday cake ever. And there you have it!
Smooth pudding cream, banana-infused, creamy, rich – basically the most amazing recipe in the entire world! Well, maybe that’s a little exaggerated. But not really, right?
And the best thing about it – now you can make it, too! You are welcome.

Instructions
Chocolate cake
  1. Combine sugar and milk in a mixing bowl until the sugar seems to be completely dissolved.
  2. Add the vegetable oil and mix again.
  3. Then add flour, cocoa powder and baking powder.
  4. Pour the mixture into a baking tray and bake for about 25 minutes at 180°C. Of course, you have to keep an eye on your cake - depending on the size of your baking tray the baking time may vary.
Pudding cream
  1. While the cake is in the oven, we will be preparing the pudding cream.
  2. Pour the plantmilk into a pot but not all of it. Leave about 8 tbsp of the milk in a separate bowl and mix the pudding powder with it.
  3. Heat the pot with the milk and add the powdered sugar.
  4. Once it starts to boil pour the remaining milk-pudding mixture into the pot and stir. After a minute you can remove the pot from the heat - but keep stirring.
  5. Let the pudding cool down.
  6. Once the pudding is cool, mix the pudding in a bowl for a bit before you add margarine, rum and whipped cream.
Decorations
  1. Almost done now! Once your cake is fully cooled you can spread a thin layer of jam across the cake.
  2. Cut bananas into slices and put them on the cake as well.
  3. Next step is putting the cream on top of the cake. Smooth the top with a spoon or knife.
  4. Heat the dark chocolate and the margarine in a pot until they are completely melted.
  5. And finally cover the cake with a nice layer of chocolate. Refrigerate for a couple of hours and indulge!
